Amends tracks the journey of a remnant of knit material as it deconstructs, acting as a parallel to the degeneration involved in neglected relationships over time. The knit remnant personifies a fragment of a close, warm relationship once shared. It’s subsequent deterioration suitably corresponds to the diminishing relationship while the threads that result represent the delicate ties that still hold the relationship together.
These ideas can even be found in the processes used to produce this artist’s book. The watermarking process as well as the impression left from letterpress printing hint at the marks that relationships can leave on our lives while the etching process parallels the deterioration of relationships over time with the acid corroding the image on the copper plate.
