Students learned the decorative paper techniques of Suminagashi marbling and paste paper. Both old traditions have a history intertwined with books but can be beautiful on their own as well.

Pochoir Printing at Kentuck Art CenterIntro to Pochoir was a one day workshop I taught at the Kentuck Art Center in Northport, AL. Students learned the basics of the stenciling technique known as pochoir. We discussed proper materials and supplies, methods for creating multiple color registrations, and techniques for pattern making.
This class was taught as a 2 hour socially-distanced workshop during the COVID pandemic in August 2020. |

Tips for Teaching Lecture through MICATips for Teaching Online was taught as a one day virtual lecture through Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD for Gail Deery's Printmaking students in 2020. Discussion focused on equipment to assist in producing videos and hosting online workshops, tips and guidelines for approaching organizations to propose workshops, creating class descriptions, best practices, and rights on intellectual property.
